EASTENDERS fans fear two iconic characters have been killed off after disappearing from Boxing Day.
Viewers of the beloved BBC One soap tuned in the festive episodes to learn the identity of the murderer and victim.
They watched as Linda Carter jumped to the rescue of her best friend Sharon Watts who was being strangled by Keanu Taylor.
She plunged a carving knife into his back, killing him on the spot.
The Six cockney matriarchs hid the body in the boarded up café and agreed to keep their crimes a secret from everyone.
They also conjured up a story about Keanu holding them at knife point in the Queen Vic.
The Six then blamed Keanu for hitting Nish over the head with a wine bottle, instead of Denise Fox, causing a fatal head injury that nearly killed him.
However, fans were left baffled as they noticed two main characters and previous suspected victims were missing from all the drama since Christmas Day.
Could they have been killed off too?
Flans flocked to Twitter to comment on missing characters Phil Mitchell and Jack Branning.
One said: “Jack and Phil have been completely AWOL since Xmas day.”
A second wrote: “I don’t understand why Jack and Phil featured in the promo pictures leading up to the Christmas Day episode? They were nowhere near any of it!”
Another penned: “Phil & Jack haven’t been seen in the aftermath yet as well.”
EastEnders continues on BBC One and iPlayer.
