An influencer has hit back at criticism after she wore body paint to a gym, saying she was ‘not naked’ during her workout.
Natalie Reynolds was filmed being confronted in the free weight section by a man who said that she should leave the sports centre if she was not wearing anything.
The US streamer, who broadcasts her life on video platform Kick, stood her ground during the altercation with the gym regular.
The video has been widely commented on since it was posted on Wednesday and 30 million people have seen it.
Ms Reynolds, who has nearly 50,000 followers on Twitter, is told ‘If you don’t have clothes on you need to be out of here,’ by the man, but replies, ‘I do have clothes on’.
The man then said he works in the entertainment industry and can recognise body paint.
After the video was released, some commenters agreed with the man and said that her outfit, or lack of, constituted ‘indecent exposure’.
One said: ‘The gym is to workout, not somewhere to go to show off painted clothes. She should be banned for life.’
This prompted Ms Reynolds to hit back at critics and she released several further tweets who said she was wearing a sports gym workout bra and a bathing suit bottom below the paint.
She added: ‘Why [is] everyone acting like I was naked lmao. The amount of women who wear pants up the ass at the gym… This is nothing bad at all.’
Alongside this tweet she added a photo of a friend painting her jeans on. It has not been stated which gym it was in or where in the US it was filmed.
Ms Reynolds added a further tweet, which read: ‘So a guy Youtuber makes a video just like this but when I paint myself everyone is acting like the world is ending. Let me get my gains and [shred them] in peace pls.’
Her post online follows a trend of gym-goers posting videos of themselves working out in gyms but also is said to go against the good work of workout-positive influencer Joey Swoll.
The workout king has titled himself the ‘CEO of Gym Positivity’ and has nearly seven million TikTok followers. He has been championing the efforts of people going to the gym for the first time, and he has in the past called out the actions of certain other influencers like Natalie.
It also appears that just a few days before Natalie had been in trouble of a different kind after a supposed prank on children went wrong.
Ms Reynolds had made a video relating to giving sweets to children in what she called a ‘social experiment’ about trusting strangers.
‘Police arrested me last night thinking I kidnapped children and had three helicopters in the sky searching for me and 15 cop cars… I’m finally out of jail,’ she tweeted on Christmas Eve.
A day later she posted her mug shot which she made her profile photo. She added: ‘Jail isn’t what I expected… I got locked in a cell with some random girls and they took a sh*t in front of me.’
She added: ‘My goal was to do a social experiment video.’
