LOVE Island finalist Lana Jenkins has revealed that her Christmas Day was hit by a tragic family death.
The popular reality star confirmed the sad news that her grandfather had passed away in the early hours of Christmas Day morning.
She shared a photo of him smiling whilst holding a relative’s baby in a sweet tribute snap.
The photo was part of an insight to her Christmas Day which the reality TV star admitted did not feel “so celebratory” following the heartbreaking news.
Lana, 26, wrote online: “A little bit of my Christmas… stayed in PJ’s all day, food and movies.
“We lost my Grandad in the early hours of the morning yesterday so the day didn’t feel so celebratory, so it’s family time for now, last pic is my grandad with our Addi.”
Despite the awful tragedy, it seemed that Lana and her loved ones had attempted to pull together in honour of her grandad in order to mark the festive day.
The star looked cosy as she shared a snap of herself cuddled up on the sofa on the day.
She also gave her many followers a peek at her Christmas dinner in the reflective post.
Her celeb pals and followers were quick to send their condolences following the devastating news.
Coronation Street actress Kimberley Hart-Simpson said to Lana: “All my love to you and your family.”
Love Island star Ellie Brown added: “Sending you lots of love babe.”
One of her many fans shared her pain as they wrote: “We had the same exact thing last year with my Nan. Sending you lots of love.”
Before another echoed: “Sorry for your loss Lana. Sending love and hugs.”
Lana rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show at the start of the year when she flew to South Africa in an attempt to find love.
She coupled up with co-star Ron Hall and the pair made it all the way to the final.
Having been pipped to the post by Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, they continued to go strong on the outside with a slew of loved-up holidays.
However, they called it quits earlier this year after six months together.
