CNN's Jim Acosta searched for some political levity on Christmas Eve with comedian Matt Friend who has become a social media legend for his ability to match the voices of people like Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis and Mitch McConnell.
What unfolded, however, is the veteran reporter to crack up laughing and remember some of the old days of clashing with the former president.
"Jim, it's true. Very true. Excuse me, Jim. What was I supposed to — this is the guy — I yelled at him many times. Such fake news, I've yelled at him many times before," said Friend in his Trump voice. "It's a failed network. Look at him smiling like a dog. Ask the question, Jim. Ask the question. Let's see what you can do, please."

"I feel like I'm back at the White House, not exactly the feeling I was hoping for," confessed Acosta.
The fake Trump went on to attack some of his political foes like DeSantis and Nikki Haley before turning to McConnell and freezing.
Acosta went on to thank the comedian for hopping online to chat while vacationing in Cabo, Mexico. Friend immediately went into his Ted Cruz impression, saying "At least I didn't get a latte and a pencil. The difference is I am not a senator from Texas! I'm a comedian who's going to go read a book..."
