SHAUGHNA Phillips has admitted she wishes she could ‘sleep through’ Christmas after a heartbreaking family loss.
The Love Island star, 29, has spoken candidly about how difficult the festive period can be for her.
Shaughna tragically lost her father seven years ago and has revealed Christmas has not been the same since.
In an open conversation on her Oh Baby Podcast with Holly Connolly, the mum-of-one did say this year has been a turning point for her.
Shaughna explained: “To bring the tone down, my dad died like ten days before Christmas.
“Like he loved Christmas, he is a big kid so he kind of made Christmas anyway.
“So that’s when he passed away, Christmas was just… I hated it. Like I hated it so much.
“If I could just go to sleep the day before Christmas and wake up in January 2nd I would.”
She added: “But this is probably the first Christmas since my dad passed away, like, six years ago that I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s obviously bittersweet. I’m not going to upset, bittersweet that like he can’t be here to experience his granddaughter.”
The reality beauty welcomed her baby daughter Lucia into the world in April this year.
Shaughna split from the baby’s father Billy Webb after he was arrested and charged with drug offences.
At 30 weeks pregnant with their daughter, he received a nine-year prison sentence.
