19yo wonderkid ready to leave Man Utd in January due to lack of game time - report

Norwegian wonderkid Isak Hansen-Aaroen is likely to leave Manchester United on a permanent basis during the January transfer window, according to journalist Fredrik Filtvedt.

The 19-year-old is one of the promising playmakers in the club’s academy, but he has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Red Devils at the first-team level.

United currently view him as a ‘Category A’ player, who has the potential to make it to the top, but the youngster is ‘most likely’ to leave in January due to a lack of game time.

Filtvedt claims that clubs from Belgium, Netherlands, Italy and Spain are interested in signing him. Hansen-Aaroen’s present deal with United expires in the summer.

Hansen-Aaroen seems likely to part ways with United

Hansen-Aaroen has made 45 appearances for United’s Under-21 side, scoring five goals and providing two assists. He has yet to reach the level to make the step up to the first-team.

The attacking midfielder may not break into manager Erik ten Hag’s plans anytime soon and it looks likely that he will move on next month with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

United could propose to sell him for a nominal fee with future add-ons and a potential buy-back clause. They are unlikely to risk losing him for free next summer with Manchester City keeping tabs.

Ten Hag may ideally want him to continue his development in the Eredivisie. There is a good possibility that the teenager will get sufficient first-team football with one of the top Dutch sides.
