Thank You, Trooper Taylor

For a job well done

Duke football did get to a bowl game, that being the Birmingham Bowl, but the team had to overcome an awful lot to do it, including the departure of the coach and the star quarterback.

Other guys also entered the portal but ultimately chose to stay long enough to play in the bowl game. Why?

Trooper Taylor knows why.

In this post-game interview, Taylor talks about how Duke football’s strength is that it’s a family and it choked him up to think about it.

You can see why. This team has gone through an awful lot in the last few weeks and it managed to hold together and to keep focused.

That’s all true and what Taylor can’t say is just how much of a part he plays in that. His players certainly know and Duke fans should have at least some inkling of what he has accomplished in a difficult situation. Manny Diaz should write him a letter to thank him for what he did for Duke Football these last few weeks and really, so should all Duke fans. He did something pretty amazing and special.
