Two people were in two separate instances remanded for three days on Sunday in Paphos, under suspicion of trying to depart from Paphos airport with forged passports and IDs.
According to Paphos police, on Saturday afternoon, a 33-year-old man attempted to leave from Paphos in the direction of Rome, using a fake French passport.
Police said that after determining it was fake, allegedly during questioning the man admitted that it was forged.
The 33-year-old was an asylum seeker, who had filed an application for asylum, which was later rejected. He then filed an appeal at the administrative court, where an answer is still pending.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
In another instance on Saturday evening, an 18-year-old woman attempted to leave for Bristol. At the passport control, the woman, also an asylum seeker, presented a fake French passport.
She was arrested and remanded.
