Report: Chelsea take ‘most decisive steps’ to sign 18-year-old Spurs target

TuttoJuve have revealed that Chelsea are now the favourites to land rumoured Tottenham target Roony Bardghji, with the Blues alleged to have stepped up their interest in the attacker.

Bardghji has emerged as the best young talent in Danish football over the last 12 months, not only impressing domestically but also being one of the main stars of Copenhagen’s Champions League campaign this season.

The 18-year-old, who has operated out-wide, as a striker and occasionally even as an attacking midfielder, is thought to be on the radar of Premier League sides, with 90 min reporting at the start of this week that the likes of Spurs and Chelsea are plotting moves for the youngster.

This claim was backed up by BT a couple of days ago, with the outlet stating that the two London clubs could get involved in a bidding war for the attacker, who is allegedly valued at over €25m (£21.6m).

TuttoJuve have now offered an update on Bardghji’s future, explaining that Juventus are also admirers of the teenager and could enter the race for his signature.

However, the publication add that Chelsea are ‘in pole position’ to land the Copenhagen starlet and have ‘taken the most decisive step’s to sign him in January.

The fact that TuttoJuve do not even mention Tottenham as a contender suggests that the North London club only have an exploratory interest in the player rather than a concrete one.

The 18-year-old has been linked with Chelsea for the last two months, which indicates that the Blues’ interest in the player is a lot more serious.
