Huge noughties rock band reuniting for final EVER UK festival – a year after announcing split

THE Canadian rock band will be performing one last gig – despite announcing they had split earlier this year.

The group took to their official Instagram to share the shocking news that they had split, in a statement without a caption, back in May.

However, it looks like they will be getting back together, joining a jaw-dropping line-up for one of the UK’s most popular festivals.

Usually taking place in Donnington Park in Leicestershire, England, Download festival has seen the likes of Metallica, KISS and Iron Maiden perform.

Now, the event will be welcoming back into the spotlight ‘In Too Deep’ singers, Sum41.

As seen on the TicketMaster website, the MTV music award nominees will join the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age and Fall Out Boy, for the 2024 line-up.

Sum 41 got together in 1996, but entered the music world in 1999 when they were signed by Island Records who released their EP Half Hour of Power the next year.

However, it was not until 2001 that the mainstream listener took notice with the band’s debut album All Killer No Filler in 2001, which included the huge hit single Fat Lip.

The band’s current lineup includes lead Deryck Whibley, as well as Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker, Frank Zummo, and Dave Baksh.

Their previous split statement, read: “Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments in our lives.

“We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in any way.

“It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first.”

It continued: “Sum 41 will be disbanding. We will still be finishing all of our current upcoming tour dates this year, and we’re looking forward to releasing our final album ‘Heaven :x: Hell…

“For now, we look forward to seeing all of you skumf**s on the road and are excited for what the future will bring for each of us,

“Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41.”
