Republican insiders are heaping scorn on Never Back Down, the super PAC dedicated helping Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign.
In interviews with The Daily Beast, Republican sources detail the major missteps of the super PAC, which has failed to help DeSantis' bid for the White House despite having access to vast sums of money.
“This will go down as maybe the worst-orchestrated effort in modern presidential history," explained one source described as being familiar with the super PAC's operations.
Another source summed up their reaction to the super PAC's efforts by saying, "What the hell is this?"

One former DeSantis supporter said that the major issue was that DeSantis' campaign essentially outsourced its operations to Never Back Down, despite the fact that the law prevents campaigns and super PACs from coordinating with one another, thus leaving DeSantis with little control over messaging strategy.
"We’ll never win another election if we don’t stop PACs trying to become the campaign," said the source, who added that outsourcing key functions to the PAC was "a huge, huge mistake, and we could not afford one on this."
The source said that the strong personalities involved in the operation made in-fighting and conflict inevitable but then added, “Did anybody think it was gonna be this bad, this quick? No.”
