But as she ended her forecast the BBC Breakfast team held an impromptu snowball fight with Carol.
Taken off guard, the presenter could be heard shrieking as she was pelted with snowballs.
Jon Kay and Sally Nugent could be heard laughing back in the Salford studio at the scenes.
Carol then declared “I’m off, see ya!” as she ran for cover.
Sally then remarked: “Terrible that anyone would dare throw a snowball at the queen of weather.”
Jon added: “She’s gone, Merry Christmas Carol. We need her back for Christmas Day, she’s with us for Christmas morning.”
There was even more chaos during the show as roving reporter Ben Boulos was forced to halt his live link.
Ben, 39, was in a wholesale market in Birmingham reporting on the latest inflation figures.
However, midway through he was interrupted by what appeared to be a customer.
It forced the journalist to reply on air: “I don’t work here I’m just doing the news.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
