CHANNEL 4 has axed another reality show as part of a cost-saving cull as the new year approaches.
The survival show Naked, Alone and Racing To Get Home only aired for one season before getting the chop.
It had a successful pilot episode before coming out on E4, and the show had many shocked viewers tuning in to see contestants battling against the elements in the buff.
The series followed two teams of strangers as they were paired together in an attempt to survive a three day trek across British wilderness.
The survivalists start their journey off with no clothes or food, and have to work hard to create shelter and find warmth in the cold.
One contestant, Luke Clampitt, previously revealed he almost quit the show over the freezing conditions.
They also had to navigate the countryside without the use of their phones, depending on maps or the kindness of strangers.
Those who successfully made it to the finish line would win a £5,000 cash prize for charity – and clothes to return to civilization in.
Confirming the show’s cancellation to TV Zone, a spokesperson for Channel 4 said: “Channel 4, like all broadcasters, makes decisions in the natural cycle of programming about which shows to rest, return or conclude to ensure we always innovate and offer viewers the best range of content.”
The news comes as the channel recently also axed the fan favourite reality show Embarrassing Bodies.
It first aired from 2007 to 2015 and saw members of the public visit the show’s medical experts for advice about a bodily issue that they had kept secret.
The original team of experts consisted of Dr Christian Jessen, Dr Dawn Harper and Dr Pixie McKenna.
However, they were replaced for the 2022 reboot, which was fronted by Dr Jane Leonard, Dr Anand Patel and Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo.
