Tuesday night on NBC, the remaining five contestants on “The Voice” Season 24 found out their fates in the live two-hour finale (read our minute-by-minute live blog). One by one, host Carson Daly revealed which artist came in fifth place, fourth place, third place and second place, and then named the ultimate winner. But did the right person win? Up first, Carson announced that the fifth place artist was Lila Forde. Lila (age 24 from Seattle, Washington) was a four-chair turn for her blind audition of “Can’t Find My Way Home,” joining Team John Legend. She then won her battle of “Killing Me Softly with His Song” against JaRae Womack. In the knockouts, she sang “Fire and Rain” and beat out both Deejay Young and Stee. Lila later performed “Angel from Montgomery” (playoffs), “Closer to Fine” (Top 12), “River” (Top 9), and then “The Weight” and “Across the Universe” (Top 5).
The fourth place spot went to Jacquie Roar. Jacquie (age 37 from North Plains, Oregon) was a four-chair turn for her blind audition of “Here for the Party,” joining Team Gwen Stefani. She then lost her battle of “Need a Favor” against Bias, where Reba McEntire stole her for her team. In the knockouts, she sang “Girl” and beat out both Alison Albrecht and Tom Nitti. Ruby later performed “The Chain” (playoffs), “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” (Top 12), “Alive” (Top 9), and then “More Than a Feeling” and “Nights in White Satin” (Top 5).
The third place contestant was Mara Justine. Mara (age 21 from Galloway, New Jersey) was a four-chair turn for her blind audition of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” joining Team Legend. She then won her battle of “Son of a Preacher Man” against Claudia B. In the knockouts, she sang “Without You” and lost to Kaylee Shimizu, which is when Niall Horan stole her for his team. Mara later performed “You’ve Got the Love” (playoffs), “Lose Control” (Top 12), “Parachute” (Top 9), and then “Piece of My Heart” and “Turning Tables” (Top 5).

The runner-up wound up being Ruby Leigh. Ruby (age 16 from Foley, Missouri) was a four-chair turn for her blind audition of “I Wanna Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart,” joining Team Reba. She then won her battle of “Jolene” against Al Boogie. In the knockouts, she sang “Blue” and beat out both Rachele Nguyen and Ms. Monét. Ruby later performed “Long, Long Time” (playoffs), “You Lie” (Top 12), “Take Me Home, Country Roads” (Top 9), and then “Suspicious Minds” and “Desperado” (Top 5).
That meant Huntley was the winner of “The Voice” Season 24. Huntley (age 33 from Fredericksburg, Virginia) was a four-chair turn for his blind audition of “She Talks to Angels,” joining Team Niall. He then won his battle of “Hold My Hand” against Brailey Lenderman. In the knockouts, he sang “Wanted Dead or Alive” and beat out both Claudia B. and Noah Spencer. Huntley later performed “Daylight” (playoffs), “With a Little Help from My Friends” (Top 12), “Way Down We Go” (Top 9), and then “Higher” and “Another Love” (Top 5).
