A CLASSIC Mazda MX5 was left in a disastrous state and so damaged that it looked like a completely different motor after it was fixed and transformed back to its former best.
The car was left unrecognisable when it was cleaned up and restored to such a massive extent that it completely changed colours.
The Mk1 Mazda MX5 was sat in the blistering sunshine for a few years abandoned and unused until it fell into the hands of popular social media star Saunders Detailing.
According to his viral TikTok transformation video the Mazda’s paint job was fading and falling apart to such a huge extent that the blue motor wasn’t quit what it seemed.
Not only was the paintwork a huge issue but the car was also just in a sorry state in general.
Cobwebs had invaded the car and made the wing mirrors their new home and the engine needed a complete revamp to get it ready to go back on the roads.
The TikTok was captioned: “The results after a single go over with the machine polisher were crazyyy.”
Under the same clip but over on his Instagram he wrote: “After a heavy decon wash, soft top deep clean and heavy cut machine polish she looks like a completely different car.
“Needs a bit of paint and it will make a minter.”
The car came to the vehicle detailing service as a dishevelled blue colour but after the intense clean it was revealed that the Mazda was actually a sleek black colour all along.
Fans of the project took to the comments to praise the stellar work done.
One said: “Wow… That’s a huge improvement.”
As a second said: “So satisfying.”
Followed by a third who went for an almost speechless reaction of simply: “Wow.”
Saunders Detailing has gained a cult following of car fanatics who love to keep up with his fascinating renovations of old, battered motors into shiny, new beautiful vehicles.
With a whopping 79,500 followers the impressive videos show how the bloke works on a car and helps with detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, leather repairs and making cars shine once again.
This mega transformation comes after a Ford Capri that rotted away in a barn for 16 years underwent a similar huge makeover after being “rescued from the dead”.
The car expert who found the vintage motor claimed it reeked of mouse poo and was covered in dust.
Elsewhere, a motor enthusiast revealed how he transformed an abandoned Mini after buying it for just £900.
Self-confessed petrol head Tom Shorrock, from Manchester, bought the rusty and banged-up Austin Mini City E in 2015.
And another car whizz managed to transform an abandoned Porsche Carrera into an unstoppable supercar after its old owner left it to rot in a yard.
