A SUPERMARKET has slashed the price of 1L Baileys to under a tenner and it’s not Tesco or Sainsbury’s
Fans of the drink can pick up their favourite festive tipple for even less at one retailer.
Supermarket giant Morrisons has slashed the price of a 1L bottle of Baileys to £9.99 which makes it the cheapest around at the moment.
According to its website, the bottle was previously retailing for £13.00, which is £3.01 more than it is right now.
Shoppers are delighted and have been taking to social media to spread the word with their friends and family.
One person tagged her friend in a post on the retailer’s Facebook page, she said: “We need to stock up! don’t want to run out before the big day!”
Another commented: “This is a brilliant offer”.
While a third added: “This is not a drill!!”
Supermarkets have already started competing on other Christmas essentials, so we had a look to see what price they were offering on Baileys.
Sainsbury’s is just 1p more expensive than Morrisons at £10, while Tesco is charging £13.
It previously had an offer for £10, but the deal ended last week.
Waitrose is the same as Tesco at £13 and Asda also falls in line at £13.
It is always good to shop around to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal, especially at this time of year.
You can use comparison sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to compare online prices from different retailers.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the cheapest bottle of Baileys was available from Sainsbury’s at £10.
Tesco Clubcard holders were also able to get a bottle for a tenner.
Back in November, the recommended retail price for a 1L bottle of Baileys was being advertised at £22 in some supermarkets.
It is not just the original Baileys that is flying off the shelves this year either.
Shoppers have been going wild and rushing to snap up an alternative to the Christmas drink, that even has real chocolate in it.
One Bailey’s fan has also been using a dupe of Baileys to make a tasty dessert.
Meanwhile, other festive bargain hunters have been picking up Quality Street for just £2.
While tubs of other Christmas chocs have been slashed to just £3.62 – the around.
