Dear Members, the Sailing Committee has recently considered enhancing our use of social media to both promote and report on some of the clubs events, giving members who use social media, immediate access to news feeds concerning events at the club . Although the club does have platforms on social media sites, the Sailing Committee feels that we as a club, are not utilising them to the best effect .
To this regard, we are still looking to recruit someone who has knowledge and experience of using social media platforms, to take on this new role as the club’s social media coordinator. It is not anticipated that this role will require hours of work but merely to keep abreast of club the events and present and report on them as and when required . The position would be entirely relaxed in nature, with absolutely no expectation or requirement for weekly accounts or news feeds but to focus essentially on the club’s main events, such as next years Exe Regatta and open meetings .
This role would involve liaising with Fleet Captains, Section Coordinators and officers, to ensure we get the right events publicised and covered to our sailing community and indeed, to a wider national audience . Obviously there would be an element of security involved, such as data protection and parental consents .
If anyone would be interested in taking on this role, we would be simply delighted to chat with you so as we can brief and guide you further, whereupon we can reassure you of our fullest support and guidance, should you be unsure of any aspect within this role .
Paul Kelley and SYC Sailing Committee .
