The Tory rebel has a “new lease of life” after going on the health kick, an insider said.
The 41 year-old showcased his new slimmed down frame in recent weeks – just as he plunged Rishi Sunak’s regime into crisis with his resignation.
One Tory source said: “Robert has gone on a health kick and has a new lease of life.”
Another Westminster insider remarked: “He has gone on a leadership diet.
“Everyone thinks he definitely wants to run when a vacancy comes up.”
Another said: “His new Caesar haircut has set tongues wagging.”
George Osborne became an unlikely sex symbol in 2014 when he got a ‘Caesar haircut’ and shed some weight by going on the 5:2.
Boris Johnson confessed earlier this year that he tried the fat jab after gaining weight with late night cheese binges.
Several other former Cabinet big beasts are rumoured to have taken the miracle injections to get trim.
