It’s an unofficial tradition at this point that members of the royal family share their annual holiday cards with the public or significant recipients. Since their move to the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept up with the practice. This year, however, the couple took a different approach to their holiday card, and it might shed some light on what their goals and intentions are for 2024.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2023 holiday card features a photograph from the closing ceremonies of this year’s Invictus Games, with Meghan and Harry smiling brightly and clapping in the candid shot by Chris Jackson. “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundations,” reads the card. “We wish you a very Happy Holiday season. Thanks for all the support in 2023!” You can see the card HERE.
Harry and Meghan’s holiday cards have gone through a real transformation in just a few short years. Last year, the couple selected a candid snapshot from another public appearance. But the year before that, the photo featured the couple along with their children — Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. With their 2023 holiday card, we have a feeling Harry and Meghan are making a statement regarding their joint ventures, and how they intend to use their platform to highlight their work.
It’s been a year of ups and downs for the couple when it comes to their professional endeavors. And with all the scrutiny on Harry and Meghan, there are bound to be some conversations or plans behind-the-scenes regarding how they prepare to move forward. Their 2023 holiday card might indicate how they plan to start the new year — with their work and commitment to service front-of-mind.
