Police are searching a river for a man who has been missing from Ipswich for six days.
Julian De Bono was last seen in the Suffolk town in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, December 10.
The 63-year-old was dropped off by a taxi on Lloyd’s Avenue at around 12.30am before heading towards St Matthew’s roundabout.
He was last spotted on CCTV at 1.55am on Yarmouth Road walking south towards the direction of London Road.
The River Gipping runs parallel to sections of Yarmouth Road and officers have been scouring the water and surrounding areas.
Julian is described as black, around 6ft 1ins tall and of a slim build with a receding hairline and trimmed grey and black beard.
He was wearing a white, partially see-through shirt, with cherry red trousers and high shine black shoes.
Suffolk Police’s search of the river is being carried out with drones, small craft and divers physically entering the water.
A dive team is due to arrive on Sunday to provide further specialist support.
‘Officers, supported by Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, have been carrying out enquiries, including in the Yarmouth Road area,’ a police spokesman said.
‘These have included conducting house-to-house enquiries and CCTV searches.’
Chief inspector Richard Burton said: ‘We are extremely concerned for Julian and police activity including searches continue as we attempt to locate him.
‘We have been working with Julian’s family and keeping them up to date with our efforts so far and this will continue.
‘Once again we would ask anyone that has any information, no matter how small you may think it is, to please contact us so that we can look into this further.’
It comes after a body was found in the River Wensum in Norwich on Friday in the search for Gaynor Lord who was missing for one week.
