He told me: “I’ve written one but can’t help but think it might be too sad for a Christmas song.
“Shocker.
“Who knows, though . . . never say never . . . maybe December 2024.”
Meanwhile the singer may see in the New Year with a massive bash in the United Arab Emirates.
Calum, who plans to release his third album next year, added: “There’s been whispers I might be playing in Dubai with Lost Frequencies for NYE.
“But if not, it will be with family and friends in Yorkshire, all round back to mine to celebrate what has been a mega year.”
If his festive track really was too glum, for even Calum, I think he made the right call.

He said: “This next Christmas, I have to cook lunch in Venice, in Venice theatre, because it’s going to be a big Elton John party and they’ve asked me to cook a Christmas meal with tortellini, zampone, lenticchie, everything.”
