Five people were seriously injured when an SUV crashed into a bagel shop in Wallingford on Friday morning.
The crash was reported at 9:48 a.m. at Bruegger’s Bagels, located at 970 N. Colony Road, where a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed through the exterior of the building and inside, according to Officer Alex Torres of the Wallingford Police Department.
Torres said the five people who were injured were all adult customers who were in the dining area of the business. All five men were taken to an area hospital. No employees were injured.
The driver of the Grand Cherokee, a 63-year-old woman, was also not injured and has been cooperative with the investigation, according to Torres.
The police department’s Traffic Division is investigating the crash. Anyone with information has been asked to contact police at 203-294-2800.
