A major upgrade Delta made to its new aircrafts is slowly getting noticed by travelers after an eagle-eyed TikToker drew attention to the news this week. Elise Brulotte, half of the sister-owned cookie dough company Hot Take Dough, was jetting aboard one of Delta’s fresh A321neo airbuses when she discovered that the airline allows passengers to connect Bluetooth headphones to in-flight entertainment. Now, instead of untangling a mess of wires to watch free episodes of Succession, you can enjoy them through your very own Apple AirPods.
“Finally, Delta’s new airplane allows you to watch movies with your AirPods,” Brulotte wrote over her video. She walks viewers through the process of pairing their devices to the screens in front of them.

You can pair your set by finding the Bluetooth icon in the bottom right corner on the in-seat television screens. A prompt will appear asking if you’re pairing wireless or wired headphones, followed by another prompt to pair your device. The last screen assures passengers their speakers will be automatically “forgotten” after the flight, so no one else can tap into them. Currently, the feature is only available in the First Class cabin of the new A321neo airbuses.
“ABOUT TIME,” Brulotte emphasized in the video’s caption. “As someone who never bought over-the-ear headphones I'm freaking out. Game changer.”

Appreciative travelers poured into Brulotte’s comments to voice their satisfaction with the airline. “Delta will always have my back,” user Kéké gushed. “Delta is THAT girl. Love them so much,” opined Yuh_1.
Meanwhile, fans of other airlines hesitant to adopt such perks were looking on the bright side. “American Airlines has had this forever,” wrote user Msjdjdjdje. “They don’t have screens, so I just watch on my phone.”
Delta announced its new A321neo jets last year. The planes feature enhanced in-flight WiFi, as well as more storage space and larger tray tables compared to other domestic aircrafts. The planes are also equipped with memory foam cushions, while first-class seats come with a divider to give passengers more privacy.
At the time of the announcement, the airline confirmed they were testing a 13-inch entertainment system in first class that would support Bluetooth connectivity. Since May of 2022, when Delta’s first A321neo took off, they’d been testing the technology to ensure it didn’t interfere with radio signals.
Bluetooth connectivity is the latest in a string of passenger-friendly updates Delta has made this year. In October, the airline announced it would supply business class flyers with a mattress pad and lumbar-support pillow. Last month, they rolled out major Wi-Fi upgrades for regional passengers.
