Miracle as newborn baby is sucked out of his home by 150mph tornado – before being found alive up a tree

A NEWBORN baby was found alive up a tree after miraculously surviving being sucked into a 150mph tornado.

The four-month-old was sleeping in his bassinet when the tornado struck his home in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The whirlwind ripped the roof off of the family’s mobile home as the baby’s father tried to grab onto his cradle.

But he got spun up and sucked up into the swirling vortex along with the baby.

His girlfriend, Sydney Moore, 22, said: ” He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles.”

In another room, Sydney jumped to protect her one-year-old before the walls collapsed and they got trapped underneath.

“Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son,” she said.

“The moment I jumped on him the walls collapsed.”

Luckily the mother and son were able to get out of the crushed trailer.

Then they frantically searched for their newborn for ten minutes in the pouring rain.

“I thought he was dead,” Sydney said.

They found the four-month-old alive and lying in a fallen tree.

“I was pretty sure he was dead, and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God,” she added.

Sydney’s sister, Caitlyn Moore, wrote on GoFundMe: ” We were told that he looked like he was placed on the tree gently. Like an angel guided him safely to that spot.”

She also added that the baby had to have his ear glued from the cut.

The father suffered a broken arm, and everyone else came out with minor cuts and bruises.

The tornado demolished the family’s trailer and they said they have lost everything in the devastation.

They have set up a GoFundMe to help them rebuild a new house.

The fundraiser has already made £26,000 out of the £39,000 target.

The family has been out in a hotel for a month by their rental company.

The community has come together to aid the young parents, providing diapers and baby formula.

Their devastating story is just one of the many from the tragic storm event that took lives of six people in the state.

Surveyors found that the tornado that moved through Clarksville had maximum winds of 150 mph and travelled about 43 miles, reported Fox Weather.
