Official Images Have Been Revealed for JJJJound’s Adidas Samba Sneaker
JJJJound‘s long-anticipated Adidas Samba collaboration has finally been revealed through official images.
Leaked photos show the JJJJound x Adidas Samba Classic Mig appearing in a combination of off-white, “Core Black,” and gum. At first glance, the sneaker may appear like any other Samba — a phenomenon familiar to those who keep up with JJJJound’s collaborations. The Montreal-based creative studio’s take on the silhouette looks to make use of a higher quality leather, however, which would go to justify a much higher price tag than usual.
Off-White leather forms the sneaker’s base, while black leather makes up the Three Stripes motif, mustache, and collar. Grey suede is then used for the tip, while the outsole is rendered in gum. A gold leather sockliner stands out as a small JJJJound flourish, as does the studio’s name in gold debossing where you’d typically find the Samba name. Rounding out the sneaker, “JJJJound” once again appears on the insole.
Two additional colorways are also expected for the JJJJound Sambas, although images for the other two have not yet surfaced.
The Adidas Samba was named Shoe of the Year last month at the FN Achievement Awards 2023. While accepting the award, Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden said: “To the Nike people in the room, watch out. We have a lot in the pipeline… not a joke…” A JJJJound collaboration, which always brings an ardent following, suggests the Samba will continue to be a part of those plans in 2024.
The JJJJound x Adidas Samba collection is expected to release in Spring 2024. Retail is set at $250 per pair. This post will be updated as more information on the collaboration becomes available.
