IT’S a far cry from the dance floor as Dan Snow prepares to head off on another adventure to find the world’s greatest archaeological finds.
The broadcaster – who will feature in the Strictly Come Dancing festive special on Christmas Day – will visit Stonehenge, Atlantis, the Terracotta Army and Machu Picchu in the second series of The Discovery with Dan Snow.

The Channel 5 series, which will air next year, will also see him look at what life would have been like in Peru, and during the building of Stonehenge in the Iron Age.
He said: “I have been lucky enough to see the sites I dreamed about as a child, and I didn’t just explore them, but also their stories of discovery. It’s been a once- in-a-lifetime experience.”
Last month, telly historian Dan criticised Ridley Scott’s £100million epic Napoleon.
The veteran director told him to “get a life” after he picked out historical inaccuracies in the blockbuster, starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Ridley’s comment in a magazine was in response to presenter Dan pointing out that Napoleon did not fight at the pyramids, nor witness Marie Antoinette’s execution.
Also, he said, the former French queen has long, frizzy hair in the execution scene — but her real hair was cropped.
