TEAMtalk have claimed that Tottenham are now ready to step up their pursuit of Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin ahead of January.
Dragusin has emerged as one of the best young defenders in Italian football since swapping Juventus for Genoa 18 months ago and various reports over the past month have indicated that his performances have caught Tottenham’s attention (Mirko Di Natale).
The defender’s agent Florin Manea even admitted a few weeks ago that he has met with multiple English clubs, including Tottenham, to discuss the prospect of a January transfer (Fanatik).
TEAMtalk have now claimed that Spurs are ready to push ahead with a move for the Genoa man.
It is explained that the Lilywhites do not want to spend big in January and that Dragusin, who is allegedly valued at £26m, is a tempting option.
However, the outlet adds that Tottenham will face plenty of competition for the 21-year-old, with Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal also ‘sniffing around’ the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
Out of all the centre-backs who have been mooted as targets for Spurs over the last two months, the Dragusin link makes the most sense to me. His age, recovery pace, aggression, and technical quality will make him a good fit for the profile Spurs are after and he is expected to be relatively cheap.
