Dejan Kulusevski has insisted that Tottenham have the squad depth to cope with any injury set-backs, admitting that he is a fan of Bryan Gil.
Since the start of the season, several pundits have pointed to Tottenham’s lack of squad depth as their main potential stumbling block (Tony Cascarino –talkSPORT).
That is an assessment that Spurs fans will largely agree with but in the absence of several key players of the last month and a half, the likes of Ben Davies, Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso and others have demonstrated that they can be relied on.
The Lilywhites are still without some key players, with James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentacnur, Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon on the treatment table, but Kulusevski is confident that Tottenham have the quality to cope without those players.
Gil might not have set the world alight in the few opportunities that have come his way recently but the Swede seemingly believes that there is more to come from the youngster.
Kulusevski told NBC Sports: “We have many injuries but we have depth also. You see the players coming in today, they all did very good, we have top players. I like Bryan a lot too, who comes in. We changed and it’s good that the coach also makes changes.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Our squad depth is not as bad as many feared at the start of the season. Centre-back is the one area that concerned most Spurs fans but Ben Davies has been exceptional since coming into the team.
