A WOMAN has revealed that she gets called a ‘sponge a**e’ because she lives in a council house, but won’t let the mean trolls get her down.
Savvy mum Lauren Keeble confirmed that she’s proud to live in a council house, and wouldn’t want it any other way.
Lauren explained that with her council house, she gets cheap-as-chips rent, for a huge garden, double garage, utility and driveway.
Not only this, but she claimed that she’s not overlooked, she has amazing neighbours and is thrilled with her ‘beautiful’ home.
Posting on social media, the blonde beauty clapped back to a comment that read “I’d be lucky just to have a council house.”
In the video, Lauren responded and said: “I’m extremely grateful for my council house.
“I am so lucky to have a council house, you know why? I’ve got a secure tenancy. I can live in that house as long as I want to.
“I’ve got cheap rent, council tax isn’t the cheapest, but, you know, it’s secure, it’s lovely.
“I can live there as long as I want.
“As long as I get permission I can do what I want as well.
“I’ve got a huge driveway, I’ve got a beautiful back garden. I’m not overlooked.
“I’ve got a garage, I’ve got a utility room.”
Lauren then explained that she takes pride in her home and is incredibly grateful for it, as she added: “I’m so freaking grateful for my house and I will take pride in it and I will look after it and I will love it like I own it.
“I have the most amazing neighbours as well.
“I’m on a beautiful road. Doesn’t even look like a council house, doesn’t even look like a council estate. It’s lovely, doesn’t even matter if it did.
“I absolutely love it and I can exchange with anyone. So if I’ve had enough with the house, I can exchange with someone and find something different.
“I’m so free in this house and I love this house.”
Clapping back to the haters, the mother continued: “Just stop battering people, just because they live in a council house.
“I’m happy, I’m proud to live in my house.
“My house is beautiful and it’s huge for what It is.
“And the rent is cheap-as-chips. And it’s my house and I love it.”
The bargain hunter mum explained that she recently gave her kitchen an upgrade, and in another video, Lauren responded to a comment that read “why should the council give you a new kitchen?”
To this, Lauren replied: “People make me laugh, they think they know everything.”
She explained: “See this comment here? I basically did a video of me redoing my council kitchen because it was due a new kitchen and it blew up.
“I didn’t realise how much it was gonna blow up and it did.
“So basically everyone thinks they know the ins and outs of a 15 second video.
“Everyone thinks, I’m a sponge a**, I’m this, I’m that, blah blah, blah,
“Basically, I live in a council house because I’m entitled to it.”
Lauren also explained that she works hard and is proud to have given her home a makeover on a budget.
She claimed: “I don’t want to private rent off someone and them to rip me off and I don’t want to own a house.
“I’m happy living in a council house. I pay full rent, full council tax.
“Me and my partner work our absolute bloody a***s off – the house was due a new kitchen, it was an absolute shambles, it was a s******e.
“So instead of waiting for them to just put another s****y kitchen in, we did it ourselves.
“Majority of things in that kitchen were second-hand. We bought a second-hand kitchen off Facebook marketplace, we sanded it, we painted it, we made it look nice.
“But my point is, you know, think before you speak and just don’t jump down on someone and be like ‘your spongy’. No, I’m not.
“I’m not someone that sits on my b****y a**, that’s for sure.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @laurenkeeble08, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 229,500 views in just one day.
But regardless of the hate Lauren has previously received, social media users were eager to support the mother in the comments.
One person said: “Well said.”
Another added: “You go girl.”
A third commented: “Keep hold of it – be happy.”
Whilst someone else revealed: “I’m with you. I’ve just moved from a private rented house to a housing association house & my new home is sooo much bigger, cleaner & cheaper!!”
Meanwhile, another user asked: “How do you get a council house?”
To this, Lauren confirmed: “I had to wait on a list for over three years to get my house.”
