A FIESTY plus-size woman says it’s time to re-educate the trolls and their weird assumptions.
They wheel out their same tiresome theories time and again, but she’s had enough of them.
Just because she’s fat, they think she’s unhealthy, or they try to forbid her from wearing crop tops.
Even worse, these keyboard warriors say she is unlovable.
But they are wrong on every front, she says, and she is prepared to tackle their dated views.
Kiana (@kianatunoa), who has 247,000 followers, describes herself on her TikTok as “your plus-size Polynesian bestie.”
She oozes confidence and body positivity, but she’s had to endure the unwelcome attentions of trolls.
Enough is enough, she says, and it’s time to stand up for herself and her thick sisters.
“We’re plus-size girlies,” she said in her post. “People think commenting under our comments, saying that they wish they had our confidence was some kind of compliment.”
Stop making conclusions, she pleaded: “Some people think just because we’re fat, we’re not healthy, and we eat a lot.
“Some people think that just because we’re big we don’t work out or move our bodies,” she wrote.
Even her fashion choices have been dictated to.
“Besides, girly, it’s forbidden to dress like this in public. Do I wear what I want?” she said incredulously.
Imposition is a word her detractors don’t understand: “Some people think they’re doctors, so they give us health advice all the time.”
Worse was the idea being plus-size excluded her from any prospect of love: “No man will ever love us if they’re successful.”
To this, she raised yet another weary eyebrow. She’s heard it countless times.
“We’re all girlies. It’s time to spread love regardless of your pants size,” she pleaded.
“Plus-size girlies, we’re the same as regular girlies,” she said.
She had a rallying cry: “We go through our mental health situations. We love ourselves situations.
“It’s time for us to love each other, regardless of what size girl you are,” she said
Commenters recognized and related to her post.
“Girl, this. We stay rent-free in people’s minds,” said this person wearily.
This person agreed: “Ughh, yes. All of this.”
This lady had a positive spin, however: “Yes girl. Thicker is better.”
