Trevor Koo scored in the game’s final minute as the Tam High boys soccer team pulled out a 1-0 non-league victory against Terra Linda (1-2-0) on Wednesday. Tam (2-2-0) got the breakthrough after Griffin Gustafson took a free kick from about 40 yards away from goal. Gustafson served the ball into the 18-yard box then Luke Nurney assisted Koo for the winning goal.
• San Marin pulled out a 3-2 non-league win against San Rafael on Tuesday night with goals from Sola Takeda, Dominic Sanchez and Adrian De Luna. Takeda and Nice Baretta had assists for San Marin.
Branson and Marin Catholic (4-0-1) battled to a 0-0 stalemate on Wednesday. The game was the first in a two-legged cup competition between the two schools. The second game will be the league contest on Jan. 22. Both teams created chances and Branson (5-0-2) had a first-half goal disallowed.
• Teagan McCormick scored for Redwood in a 2-1 loss to University on Wednesday. Ellie Kemos provided the assist for the Giants (5-2-0), who fell behind 2-1 when the Red Devils scored with about 20 minutes to play.
Redwood went on the road to defeat Montgomery, 40-35, in Santa Rosa on Wednesday. Giants junior Ainsley Gallagher hit a big 3-pointer to snap a 35-35 tie and power Redwood to the win. Senior Ru Todd scored 12 points for the Giants, who got 8 points from junior Maya Saibel and six each from sophomores Kitty White and Brooke Denler with six each.
• Sophia Everett filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and four assists leading San Rafael to a 42-33 win over Terra Linda in a non-league game Tuesday night. Jessica Vara chipped in with 14 points while Cassidy Kaplan added nine, while Luca Fondnazio anchored the defense with 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-3).
Collette Treewater had 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Trojans, who also got eight points from Sammi Reno. Kayla Ferraro added six points and six rebounds.
• Junior Tula Peltz hit five 3-pointers and finished with a season-high 28 points t lead Tam past John Sweet, 68-52, Monday night. Senior Sanaa Green scored 15 points for the Red-tailed Hawks (8-3). Senior Ava Livesly pulled in a team-best 10 rebounds to go with six points, and senior Andy Kelley had nine points, including two 3-pointers, and seven rebounds.
Archie Williams sophomore center Alex Hamblet grabbed an offensive rebound with two seconds to play in overtime as the Peregrine Falcons edged San Rafael, 60-58, Tuesday. The Falcons’ Owen Bugas tied the score with six seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Bugas finished with 19 points, while senior Julian Nichol and sophomore Brian Wright scored 13 points each.
San Rafael’s Gio Brovelli scored a game-high 23 points.
Marcus McCutchen led Dominican University with a game high 18 points and seven rebounds as the Penguins rolled past Chaminade, 73-59, Tuesday night in San Rafael. Dale Currie tallied 17 points and five rebounds for the Penguins (4-5, 2-0 PacWest), and Carter Plousha finished with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Senior Olga Faasolo finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds as Dominican University defeated Chaminade, 73-62, on Tuesday.
