In 2023, she won over a whole new army of fans when she took part in I’m A Celebrity.
Despite leaving school with one GCSE, Danielle applied for Jamie’s Dream School in 2011.
It was this Channel 4 reality show with chef Jamie Oliver, that led her to bag the role of Lola on EastEnders.
Danielle’s beloved mum is called Lisa Marie Carter.
She is married to the actress’ step dad, David Murray.
Speaking about her daughter’s rise to fame, she told The Sun on Sunday: “She never went to acting school, but I think she is proof that you don’t always have to.
“She’s always been strong and determined – and maybe a bit feisty at school.
“She never caused any trouble, but she was just a typical teenage girl.
Lisa also revealed that her only daughter, who grew up in Lewisham, South East London, is made of strong stuff after she was in and out of hospital with a severe illness during secondary school.
She said: “It was very difficult as a mum and also tough for Danielle but she came out the other side.
“I think part of what she went through back then has made her the strong woman she is today.
“She isn’t one to give up.”
During her daughter’s time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Lisa Marie was brimming with pride.
Speaking to The Sun, she said at the time: “Danielle’s been doing really, really well, I knew she would be determined.
“A lot of people in there aren’t themselves in their jobs but when you’re playing someone for so long, it’s really difficult to switch off but she’s a really caring person.
“I don’t know how she does it, I’m not a good at heights and she’s inspired me to jump on a plane and get out here.
“She’s already a winner in my eyes anyway, I’m really proud.
“I knew she would give it a good go but I am a bit surprised at how much she has thrown herself into it. She was anxious going in.”
Danielle’s step dad David Murray, who arrived as well as Danielle’s pal, added: “Anything with bugs in she’s terrified.
“You can see her jumping around like a jack in a box – me and her younger brother are loving watching that.
“The first trial when she was on the pole was amazing!
“I knew she’d be nervous, but when she got going she was totally fine.”
