JULEN LOPETEGUI has been earmarked to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, reports suggest.

And it has now been reported that former Wolves boss Lopetegui is “well placed” to replace the Dutchman should he be axed.
According to Relevo, Red Devils chiefs were left impressed by the work he did at Wolves last season, while his experience winning the Europa League with Sevilla has also earned him European pedigree.
This is said to have put him ahead of the likes of Graham Potter or Roberto de Zerbi in consideration.
Meanwhile, his command of the English language has also put him ahead of Zinedine Zidane.
The reports says that Lopetegui, 57, wants to continue his career in England after falling in love with the culture.
Lopetegui’s potential arrival could also signal a U-turn in transfer policy for senior stars Casemiro and Raphael Varane, who had “good” relationships with the Spanish boss during his time at Real Madrid.

He has also previously worked with loanee Sergio Reguilon and is said to possess a good relationship with former Man Utd goalkeeper David De Gea.
Ten Hag remains in his post for now, but if history is anything to go by then that could change following the Liverpool game on Sunday.
Man Utd go into the fixture having failed to win at Anfield since 2016.
Indeed, the last time Man Utd even scored at Anfield was in 2018.
