The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked for an action taken report from Odisha chief secretary on the mysterious death of people belonging to the Juang community, a particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG), in Keonjhar district. The Commission passed the order on Tuesday acting on a petition filed by human rights activist and lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy on October 29. The petitioner said that around 11 Juang people including a child from Jantari village under Banspal block have allegedly died between August and October 22 this year.
