VIKTOR HOVLAND got into the festive spirit by tucking into a SHEEP’S HEAD.
The Ryder Cup star hails from Oslo in Norway.
Viktor Hovland posted a picture of his pre-Christmas meal[/caption] The Norwegian has had a stellar year[/caption]At Christmas time, a sheep’s head is considered a traditional Norwegian dish.
Referred to as “Smalahove”, the dish is often served with swedes or potatoes.
Hovland, 26, last night posted a snap of his meal to his Instagram story.
Despite having been cooked, the sheep’s features were still clearly visible as it lay on the golf star’s plate.
Since the Mad Cow epidemics, Smalahove has only been allowed to be made from lamb’s heads, and not from adult sheep’s.
It is made by removing the brain and torching the skin and fleece.
The remains of the head is salted before being either steamed or boiled for around three hours.
Hovland was a star of Europe’s 2023 Ryder Cup triumph over the US in Italy earlier this year.

He secured three-and-a-half points from his five matches in Rome.
Most notably he produced a massive win over Collin Morikawa as Europe edged towards victory.
Following Europe’s win, stars posed by kissing their glamorous wives and girlfriends.
With Hovland being the only single member of the team, he brilliantly stood with vice-captain Jose Maria Olazabal.
