The British data regulator has fined the Ministry of Defence (MoD) 350,000 pounds for a series of email data breaches that exposed the personal information of over 265 Afghans seeking relocation to Britain after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) said the department did not have proper operating procedures to ensure secure group emails were sent to Afghan nationals working for or with the British government.
