Manchester United were knocked out of European competition entirely after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Their Champions League group campaign was beyond embarrassing. One win, one draw, four defeats and a goal difference of -3.
They scored 12 goals in six games, equal to what table-toppers Bayern registered. However, their leaky defence conceded 15 goals.
Andre Onana switched to Old Trafford from Inter Milan in the summer in a deal worth €55 million.
Expectations were high from the Cameroon international, but he made several high-profile errors, which is why Man United are no longer in European competition.
Here we look over his three worst mistakes in the Champions League this season.
The Red Devils’ return to Europe’s elite competition started poorly.
The Premier League team started the game brightly but were led down by their shot-stopper.
He failed to save a routine shot from Leroy Sane, allowing the ball to wriggle under his body for the opener.
It was all downhill from there, as he was also at fault for Bayern’s second and fourth goals.
After losing their opening UCL game, it was important for the Red Devils to claim maximum points against Galatasaray at Old Trafford.
However, mistakes from Onana ensured that the host lost their second consecutive game in the competition.
The 27-year-old played a dreadful pass, which Dries Mertens easily cut off. Casemiro tried to come to Onana’s rescue, but his tackle from behind led to his red card and penalty.
Mauro Icardi missed the resulting spot-kick, but the striker grabbed the match-winner after three minutes.
Onana went down to the ground too soon, which made it easy for Icardi to put the ball in the back of the net.
The reverse fixture came with an opportunity for Onana to redeem himself, but he failed.
The shot-stopper made two blunders, failing to stop two direct free-kicks from Hakim Ziyech.
He constructed a poor defensive wall for Ziyech’s first strike. The former Chelsea forward caught Onana wrong-footed by firing his shot around the wall.
A weak hand from the keeper did not help the Red Devils as the ball squirmed over the line, gifting Galatasaray their second goal.
