A BBC BREAKFAST host took a brutal swipe at Jon Kay’s face – leaving Sally Nugent wincing.
Both Jon and Sally were on the red sofa on Wednesday morning for their final shift of the week.
During the show the hosts crossed live to Ben Boulos who was live from a biscuit factory in Bolton.
He gave viewers a behind the scenes look at the production line as they made sweet Santa treats.
As he began to wrap up his live report, he had one more important piece of information for the hosts and viewers.
He explained: “Just before we go, I was watching the machine decorating the biscuits, Sally and Jon.
“As I watched the last bit of the process I heard a rumour that the face, the final touches are modelled on a rather well known and well loved BBC Breakfast presenter.”
He added: “Does that remind you of anyone,” before Jon chimed in declaring: “Charlie!”
Sally, 52, couldn’t contain her laughter at the jab.
“I’m glad you’re sitting next to Sally and not me Jon,” Ben quipped before the cameras returned to the studio.
Sally and Jon were reunited earlier this week after Sally took time away from the sofa.
She was given a week off by bosses to take part in the Christmas edition of Strictly Come Dancing.
Jon was joined by a number of stand-in co-hosts to present BBC Breakfast.
