TOWIE star Vas Morgan has been rushed to hospital with malaria.
The 35-year-old, who starred in the ITVBe show between 2014 and 2016, shared the scary news on his Instagram story.
Vas shared that he had been in Ghana for three days and managed to contract the disease.
The TV star posted a snap of a cannula in the back of his hand while lying in his hospital bed.
Vas captioned the post: “3 days in Ghana and already contracted malaria.
“Road to recovery starts now.”
Vas later took to his story again to reassure his followers that he is in good hands.
He added: “Sorry to panic everyone.
“I perhaps should think before posting something so worrying.
“Me and my Sagittarius need for attention.
“I am very sick but I’m in good hands and I am told I will have a very speedy recovery. Thankfully we caught it very early.
“I’ll be back to the village for @vasmorganfoundation asap!”
Malaria is spread by Anopheles mosquitoes, when they bite people to feed on their blood.
When the mosquitoes bite, they transfer the malarial parasites into the person’s bloodstream, causing them to become ill.
What are the symptoms?
Vas is best known for his stint on Towie between 2014 and 2016.
He quit the show to pursue other things, including his fashion magazine Tings London.
The star also appeared in Celebs Go Dating in 2018.
Vas is best pals with a lot of celebrities including Rita Ora and Towie star Chloe Sims.
He is also the founder of We Matter, a mental health awareness organisation.
The ITVBe legend also spends a lot of time focusing on the Vas Morgan Foundation, which fights towards better education for children in Africa.
