One contestant of the 22 remaining in the $9.2 million Circa Sports NFL Survivor pool had quite a sweat with the Minnesota Vikings ... but (...)
The Circa Sports NFL Survivor Contest is the biggest legal survivor pool in the United States. This year, the pool had 9,267 entries in it, which at $1,000 an entry equates to a prize pool of $9.267 million. Circa does not take a rake to run the contest.
Entering Week 14, there were 30 contestants remaining, but eight of them got eliminated by picking the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night — the Steelers lost 21-18 to the New England Patriots.
That meant that the 22 remaining entries heading into the games on Sunday each had implied value over $400,000.
One contestant was brave enough to select the Minnesota Vikings as his choice this week, as Minnesota took on the Las Vegas Raiders. The game was scoreless heading into the fourth quarter, and the Vikings ultimately won 3-0 on a Greg Joseph 36-yard field goal with 1:57 left in the game.
It was the first 3-0 game since Pittsburgh beat Miami on Nov. 26, 2007, and just the third in the past 40 years, according to the AP.
It must’ve been quite a sweat for that person, but in the end he moves on to Week 15 … and that’s what the contest is all about.
