CRISTIAN ROMERO escaped a red card for a horror tackle that sparked a mass scrap in Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat of Newcastle.
But many fans were distracted from the controversy by the “weird noises” of what one called “another classic Gary Neville oooh”.
Romero would have got a four-game ban had he earned a second straight red this season for the challenge on Callum Willson late on.
But after the final whistle Toon striker Wilson was at the centre of hostile schemes with Guglielmo Vicario after accusing the Spurs keeper of a “lack of respect”.
And Spurs wideman Pedro Porro had to be shoved away by team-mates.
Viewers were furious with the initial tackle from centre-back Romero in Sunday’s Prem match.
One claimed: “That Romero challenge looked a fairly clear cut case for VAR to step in and advise an upgrade from yellow to red card.”
But Sky Sports pundit Neville diverted attention for some viewers with his reaction.
As the Manchester United legend verbally winced at the on-field exchange, one observer posted: “Another classic Gary Neville OoOoOoO for the history books there.”

But another fan insisted: “Neville has such an agenda against Romero. The noises!!!! So weird.”
A third supporter agreed: “Slipped on 1st challenge which made 2nd contact inevitable. But Neville hates him so much.”
However, other viewers labelled Romero’s foul as “shocking” – with the strongest verdict being the “most malicious tackle of all time”.
Spurs were 3-0 up at the time – through Destiny Udogie and a double from Richarlison – with just ten minutes left.
Son Heung-min then added a penalty to his two assists before Joelinton replied for the Magpies.
