Headed to 40 and it’s near flat

We’re facing heatwave conditions today, so stay cool and stay hydrated if you’re out and about. There’s only the barest hint of a wave, but exposures that like east swell were just into the catchable range (ankle to thigh-high). Swell at sea was 1.25 metres at 6 seconds from the NE, which meant waves were close together and weak everywhere.
From the look of this morning’s swell models, we’re not likely to see any real improvement until about mid-week when the GFS is showing a long period south pulse on Wednesday-Thursday. Swell heights are projected to be around the metre mark, so it’s not going to be exceptionally big. But there could be some fun ones for the early if we’re lucky.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing northeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast today. A trough will bring a gusty southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast during Saturday, before stalling near Seal Rocks and decaying on Sunday. Winds will then tend east to northeasterly through the remainder of the forecast period, as a new high becomes established over the Tasman sea. The next significant change is expected towards the end of the coming week.
