TOMMY Mallet has opened up about his controversial parenting style, saying: ‘I’ve spoilt my son so badly’
The former Reality TV star and multi-millionaire has made a confession about his parenting style.
Tommy, 31 revealed that he has “spoilt” his son Brody to an extreme extent, despite saying he wouldn’t in the past.
The ex TOWIE star who is known for his lavish lifestyle and extravagant purchases, admitted that he may have gone overboard when it comes to spoiling his little one.
Tommy joined Spencer Matthews on his podcast, Big Fish recently to discuss the topic of raising children without spoiling them or making them entitled.
Spencer began: “I have children, if I give my kids everything that they want, and I use my “success” to just fuel their lifestyles without instilling in them a serious need to work hard, they will turn into spoiled losers.
And that’s the way they will be and I don’t want that for them and neither does my wife.”
Tommy replied: “It’s hard not to do though, isn’t it?”
“It’s really hard, particularly when they’re young, they get bloody anything they want,” Spencer responded.
Tommy concluded: “I have spoilt my son so badly. And I feel like I’ve said so much that I have to be careful all the time because I’ve said things like: ‘I’m not going to spoil my boy. He needs to be brought up how I was brought up.’
The TV star has become one of the most successful cast members, becoming a millionaire after launching his shoe brand Mallet.
He recently celebrated a huge win after teaming up with the world-famous sportswear brand, Reebok.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Tommy posted a throwback image of him holding a Mallet shoebox, which then morphed into him holding a stack of trainers he created with Reebok.
He wrote in the caption: “I’ve given it my all over the last 8 years, this was always something I felt like was needed for Mallet and I wasn’t going to rest until I got it, from the olders I looked up to on Gilera runners, to my PE teacher having a shiny boot polished black pair, the workout was part of my childhood and part of my culture!
“It’s been some journey – I’m ready now. Big thanks to all the team at Reebok and specially Authentic brands group for trusting me with this!”
Tommy and fiancée Georgia Kousoulou recently got secretly married.
Sharing a picture of them in their wedding finery with son Brody, Georgia wrote: “1st December… we done a thing.
“After a challenging year. We decided we wanted to end the year happy, in love & together as husband & wife.
“Wedding part 2 coming soon.”
Even though it was a low-key affair, the couple still looked great.
