Ruth’s Chris Steak House moves to new space in Woodland Hills

Ruth’s Chris Steak House, known for premium cuts served on heated plates, recently moved its Woodland Hills restaurant to 5919 Canoga Ave., which was previously known as home to a TGI Fridays, according to the company.

The newly-opened restaurant takes up a 10,139 square-foot space and offers a main dining room, casual dining room, bar, and patio with ample seating — along with a boardroom and two private dining rooms that can be reserved for special events and occasions.

“We’ve had the pleasure of serving the Los Angeles community for more than ten years, and are fortunate to continue offering our one-of-a-kind experience to guests in the area with the relocation of our Woodland Hills restaurant,” said Brad Wood, general manager of Ruth’s Chris Steak House Woodland Hills, via email. “We look forward to welcoming new guests, as well as those who are already familiar with and passionate about our brand.”

Since Ruth Fertel established the chain’s first restaurant in New Orleans in 1965, Ruth’s Chris has opened more than 150 restaurants worldwide. Over the decades, the company has perfected its broiling method and seasoning techniques, boasting that it makes sure every piece of stake is perfectly cooked and served on a 500-degree plate. The restaurant also serves fresh seafood, scratch made side dishes and desserts, craft cocktails and wines.

Chelsea Buda, a spokeswoman for the company, wrote in an email that the restaurant changed locations because its previous lease was expiring and by finding the new space, “we had an opportunity to remain in the Woodland Hills community.” The new location is about much bigger than the previous one, she added.

For its opening event, the restaurant hosted a dinner with community and business leaders along with the company’s executives. All of the proceeds from the event went to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the company said.
