I’M A Celebrity fans have cottoned on that a major part of the show is not filmed live – and have begged producers to make it
Some viewers took to social media calling for a change in the way the eviction is revealed.
The tense moment is filmed a few minutes before[/caption]One fan also pointed out that Ant and Dec’s evictions are not technically live, meaning it could be shortened to allow for longer post-camp interviews with the evictees.
A viewer shared: “It’s too formulaic, the last person is always the one to be the 2nd ‘could be you’ so the suspense is really limited to whenever they say the first “could be you”.
“They could do it in alphabetical order that way it could be anyone up until the 2 “could be you”s so the suspense is the same every time.
“Granted there are a few issues with this, but the current system isn’t the best.
“OR – they should call them genuinely at random and the 2 “could be”s would be anywhere in the run down and they just end by “which means x, y and z, it’s not you”.
Another viewer replied: “Agree it just uses up some time. The stupid bit is that bit isn’t live anyway, if they cut it down it would give a little more time for the recap or the exit interview.”
The eagle-eyed fan explained: “When you are watching tonight, notice before they announce who goes, there is a ‘live’ symbol in the bottom right corner.
“Then they go to break and are standing outside the camp. That live logo is gone, and stays gone whilst they announce the exit. It then reappears when they welcome the evicted campmate to the exit interview.
“The reason is the evicted campmate needs time to get from the camp to the studio, so the announcement in camp is filmed a few minutes early and they use the extra time this allows to get to the studio.”
While another fan speculated: “I’ve noticed on the last two episodes. The first person who gets the “it could be you” is the one that get eliminated. I’m going to be watching closely this evening to see if it happens again.
“The fact they aren’t doing it live makes me think so they do it in what ever order (to get genuine celeb reactions) then quickly edit it to match the same formula of not you, not you, not you, could be you, not you, could be you then first could be is binned off.”
Last night, Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard was the fourth to be given the boot from the show.
