Kate Middleton Opens Up About 'Nerve-Wracking' Hospital Visits With 3 Children

Kate Middleton got very candid about her experience as a parent tending to children in need of emergency care.

As reported by Hello! Magazine, the Princess of Wales made the comments while she toured Evelina London Children's Hospital, and during her recent visit, she even met with a few families.

While speaking with one family in a pre-op cubicle, Middleton, 41, opened up about what it felt like having to rush one of her three children–Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5–to the hospital when they needed it.

"It’s always nerve-wracking as a parent; I’ve taken mine into hospital for different things," she shared. "You're always at least worried but you’ve got a great team (here)."

Though she didn't get into detail about her children's health, as she toured the rest of the facility, she offered support to those who needed it most: the families of the kids admitted. 

Middleton reportedly met with the mother of a four-year-old who, hours prior, had just come out of an operation to remove excess skin from her ears. As the two conversed, the child's mother admitted that even though her daughter's procedure was considered a "minor" operation, she was still anxious about the outcome. 

"It's always a worry, though for a parent," Middleton replied. "We have to keep our cool. It's so hard."

Middleton has visited the hospital before, as she has served as patron of Evelina London since 2018, but her most recent visit to the health center was to officially open the Children's Day Surgery Unit. 

Hospital staff that spoke with Town & Country described Middleton as being "really lovely, really down to earth." 

"She asked us about ourselves and how long we have been working here. She also said things like how we are the face of Evelina Children’s and how we are the first point of contact for people. She wished us a Merry Christmas…I actually thought it would be a bit more formal, but it was actually really comfortable and it was really easy speaking to her."
