AN office worker has shared the awkward interaction she had with a stranger over her outfit choice.
Despite the cold winter weather, she opted for a style of skirt that showed off some skin.
In her video, Olivia Ahnen (@livahnen) recounted her experience of being outfit-shamed on her way to work.
“I really liked my outfit today, I was feeling cute, I was feeling good about myself,” the TikToker explained.
“I got a little matching blazer set on and I’m not going to lie, it does show some leg,” Olivia said.
She wore a blue Chanel blazer layered over a white top and a matching blue mini skirt.
Olivia completed her outfit with a pair of gray thigh-high heeled boots.
When she reached the lobby of her building, Olivia was approached by an older lady she didn’t recognize.
“She doesn’t say hi, she doesn’t say hello, no kind of introduction, she just goes: ‘Is it warm enough to be dressing like that?'” she explained.
Olivia told her followers that she simply replied “I think so” with a forced smile.
After channeling her annoyance into a hair flip, she walked away from the woman.
“Yes, I got a little snappy but I think rightfully so,” Olivia said.
She pointed out that if the same situation had happened to her at another time in her life she would’ve let her anger get to her.
“I still know that there has been some kind of growth in me because I know that a younger Olivia would have said: ‘I don’t know but your husband thinks so,'” she joked.
Her followers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the offending outfit.
“You look fabulous! She was probably just bitter, jealous, and feeling old and outdated,” one viewer said.
“For most workplaces, it is too short but there’s no need for a rude comment and that’s your supervisor’s place to say something,” pointed out another TikTok user.
