The competition for rumoured Tottenham target Serhou Guirassy seems to be growing by the day, with The Guardian’s Ed Aarons now revealing that Manchester United have entered the race for the Stuttgart star.
Guirassy’s goal record throughout his time in Ligue 1 was rather modest but the centre-forward has transformed as a player over the last 12 months and has become one of the most prolific strikers in Europe since his switch to Germany.
The 27-year-old has scored 15 Bundesliga goals in just 10 matches so far this season and his exploits are the primary reason why Stuttgart are sitting third in the table.
Unsurprisingly, Guirassy’s form has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, with reports over the last few weeks revealing that Tottenham are one of several clubs eyeing a move for the striker, who is also alleged to be on the radars of West Ham United and Newcastle (TEAMtalk).
It now looks like Spurs would have even more competition to contend with for Guirassy’s signature, with Aarons now taking to social media to reveal that Man Utd are plotting a move to the former Rennes man.
The journalist also backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent weeks by adding that the Guinea international has a release clause of €17.5m (£15.1m) in his contract.
Understand that Manchester United have shown an interest in signing Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy in January. The Guinea forward has scored 15 times in 10 Bundesliga appearances this season and has a €17.5m release clause

While there is no guarantee that Guirassy would be able to translate his goal output to the Premier League, the £15m release clause means that he is a risk worth taking.
One would expect Stuttgart to do their utmost to convince the centre-forward to sign a new deal and to do away with the release clause.
