Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Bournemouth have not yet given up hope of tying Tottenham target Lloyd Kelly to a new contract.
Kelly’s current deal at the Vitality Stadium ends next summer (Transfermarkt), which means that January would be the Cherries’ last chance to get a fee for the centre-back if he does not pen a new contract.
It has been suggested by various outlets over the last month that Tottenham are expected to reignite their interest in the 25-year-old in January after failing to get a deal for the player over the line last summer (GiveMeSport).
The likes of Liverpool (Football Insider) and Arsenal (Tuttosport), Juventus (Fabrizio Romano) and AC Milan (TMW) have also been credited with an interest in the Englishman over the last couple of weeks.
Gold has now backed up Tottenham’s keenness in signing Kelly, stating that the Bournemouth star is seen as a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system, given his ability in possession and turn of pace.
However, the journalist adds that the South Coast club will make another attempt to tie the central defender down to a new contract.

If contract talks with Kelly’s camp do not progress over the coming weeks, Bournemouth would be pretty tempted to cash in on the centre-back in January.
However, it is very much possible that they would decide to hang on to the player and risk losing him on a free transfer if Andoni Iraola feels that the 25-year-old is key to the Cherries’ survival hopes.
