RHINOPLASTY remains to be one of the most sought-after surgeries in the world – but have you even wondered what the recovery process is like?
Well, one woman, Tasha Blanthorn, recently bravely opened up about her post-surgery experience, saying her face had become so swollen she was looking like one of the Chipmunks.
According to the blonde stunner, there were plenty of things she wished someone had told her prior to forking out for the procedure, which can cost anywhere from £6k to an eye-watering £15k in the UK.
After the nose job, the beauty lover found she was almost unable to eat properly and her diet had to be adjusted quite a bit.
For the most part, Tasha said in a video shared on TikTok, soft foods had become her ”best friend” during the lengthy post-op period.
”Chewing becomes very difficult and it’s hard to move your upper lift,” the stunner, from Manchester, explained in the clip.
Even medical experts in the field advise to best stick to easy-to-chew foods, such as oatmeal, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes and yoghurt.
Meanwhile, popular snack choices, such as nuts and crunchy apples, are best avoided, as they can cause can cause discomfort and even lead to increased blood pressure – which is not ideal during nose job recovery, Facial Plastic Surgery Miami warned.
However, for the beauty fanatic the troubles didn’t end there, as the pricey cosmetic procedure also caused her face to swell brutally – in fact, the swelling was so intense, Tasha said she was basically a ”Chipmunk” within a few days.
She added that this, as mortifying as it may be, was totally ”normal” and patients should expect for the swelling to minimise after two or so weeks.
Looking back at the journey, Tasha also revealed that she felt so nauseous, she had to ask one of the medical staff at the hospital for an anti-sickness injection.
Meanwhile, to get through the challenging process, Tasha said she found a way to remind herself it was all worth it in the end – by simply taking selfies.
Advising fellow beauty fans to do the same, the stunner said: ”Take lots of before pictures as you will start to wonder if it was worthwhile.
”Not being able to see under the cast will drive you mad.”
As her nose and nostrils were covered with a thick cast for a while, Tasha revealed she had to learn how to breathe through her mouth – and whilst it may seem relatively easy, it did have some negative consequences.
Tasha claimed that this technique made both her mouth and throat so dry, she had to use a special spray and heaps of lozenges to make it bearable.
”A humidifier was also a life saver for me,” the beauty enthusiast, who posts under the username @tashablanthorn, told her followers in the video.
It’s been four long months for Tasha since the went under the knife – and although the swelling is still there, she seems to love her results, proudly sharing snaps on social media.
”Patience is key,” she added, saying her surgeon was ”the best”.
”Even after 1 week you’ll feel so much better! Time goes so fast, the first 5 days or so are the worst.”
Some amazed by the makeover, others full of questions, dozens raced to comments.
One fan of the transformation wrote: ”This is the 3rd nose job video I’ve seen in 2 days after FINALLY booking a consultation to have mine done .. yours looks STUNNING.”
Someone else chimed in: ”I am on month 4 as well and very swollen.”
”I’m on day 4 and I’m going crazy,” a third penned.
”Looks good,” a social media user wrote.
